In this FAQ we give answers on how to upgrade to a new version of JoomlaStats if you already have installed it.
We assume you already have installed & configured the Joomla Content Management System and have a working version of JoomlaStats:
- Uninstall the previous component by using the default Joomla uninstall procedure:
Do not use the JoomlaStats uninstall procedure, this will remove all JoomlaStats data.
However, if you use the mentioned Joomla CMS uninstall, all data will be unharmed.
- Log in to the backend (Administration) part of your Joomla site
- Choose menu item "Installers", then "Components"
- Select the currently installed JoomlaStats component
- Use the uninstall button (upper right). Don't worry your data will remain unharmed.
- Follow normal installation procedure.
