Do you want to have JoomlaStats in your own language? But it hasn't been translated yet. Why not try and do it yourself?

If you want to see JoomlaStats in your own language then follow these instructions and you'll not only be helping yourself but you will be helping many other JoomlaStats users and at the same time contributing to a fantacstic project!

Right now we have only translation files for the administrator backend (that's because there is no real frontend (wink) ). After you have installed JoomlaStats you will find the translations folder located in the [Joomla_root]/administrator/components/com_joomlastats/language folder. The latest development translations (awaiting a next release) can be found at the JoomlaCode.

The format of the filenames is: [the internet toplevel domain].admin.ini.php or [the internet toplevel domain].ini.php (before release 2.2.0)

The file is a normal text file, divided into sections by using rows with brackets (starting with '[' and ending with ']'). Within each section there are values defined. This is done by naming the value, then placing a '=' sign and finally the content of the value.; lines starting with ';' are interpreted as comments.

[translation]
trans00 = en
trans01 = Translation by
trans02 = YourName
; You may add a web address after your name between '(' and ')'.
; If you wish to do so, you must use the shortest address possible and it may not be a link.

[menu]
r01=Summary Year
<and some more values>

[extra]
r03a=detailed visitor information - Pages
<and some more values>

[tableheaders]
t01=Day
<and some more values>

<even more sections>

The easiest way to start a new translation is to copy an existing language file you understand (for example en.admin.ini.php or en.ini.php (before release 2.2.0) and copy it to a new file.

If you want to even have the country names in your own language, than have a look at the zip file in the install folder; There are the [the internet toplevel domain].db.joomlastats.inc.php files.

When you have finished your translation post it to the developers forum, then it will be integrated on the next release of JoomlaStats!
